Sometimes writing articles is incredible straightforward due to the simplicity of the creature itself.
And sometimes, writing an article or even just making a lore post makes me feel like a monk in some secluded monastery pouring over and cross-referencing manuscripts and apocrypha to piece together a shadow of a fact, like what I did in my brief look at Alazhra.

Just like the gutting of the Voting Rights Act, watching all the progress older black generations made be destroyed in my lifetime is devastating. And just like the Voting Rights Act gutting paved the way to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, watching nonblack ppl only give a shit when the outcome negatively affects them is as inevitable as it is tiring.
Barring anyone who doesn't already have access to wealth (and/or influence) from high standards of education is class warfare. It eliminates the possibility of upward mobility. It's happening at all levels at once (public schools are in BAD shape, libraries are being defunded and emptied, textbooks are being rewritten to keep white supremacist evangelicals happy, etc), but the most vulnerable groups, as always, are the first to feel the effects. If they have their way, the GOP will push every regressive policy through until we've returned to a system where the only people with rights are the rich (cis, straight) white men. That's their calling. That's their only religion.

Took a break from the usual Goretober last year and did a rat-themed one from Twitter! No clue what I'm gonna do this year, but this was pretty fun and super adorable

God, I've been replaying through Banjo-Kazooie and I remembered one of my favorite jokes from that game.
There's this camel called Gobi who pops up multiple times in the game, and every time you basically have to body slam him in the hump to get him to spit up his stored water for a few Jiggies.
And, when you do it for the last time, he says "Right, that's it! I'm off to the Lava World. You'll never find me there!" and runs off.
Banjo-Kazooie does not have a lava world.

I wanted to leave this at vague blogging but fuck, man, I can't leave it be. I have a special fondness for Beelzebub as a folkloric figure, and I can't help having very intense personal feelings about how he's adapted. So I'm going to blather about the Lord of the Flies for a moment, and there's nothing you can do about it.
i’ve heard a lot of people say “don’t reach out to your friends first and see how many people will remain in your life. those are your true friends” and i get it. it sucks and it’s tiring constantly being the one to message first, to initiate hang outs but don’t take this so literally. some friendships require initiation. i have lost touch with so many people who genuinely cared about me and wanted me in their life because i stopped reaching out. it’s a hard pill to swallow but honestly some people just suck at it and it doesn’t mean they don’t love and value you. i’ve reconnected with some people over the past few months and it’s crazy how genuinely happy they are to see me and how engaged they are in the conversation. i just think sometimes we’re too harsh on each other & too quick to emphasize other peoples flaws and remove them from our lives but then we’ll all be alone and what’s the point of life then!!!!
